Landscape

As one of several homes for this client, VILLA IVOIRE, was conceived as a sensorial escape from a busy lifestyle. In form and palette, the architecture and interiors are intentionally monastic, almost temple-like and surfaces, like the micro-concrete, were chosen for their inherent uniformity and durability.

Every detail of VILLA IVOIRE, from its color palette to its architectural nuances, is crafted to transcend mere functionality. This villa is not just a residence; it is an invitation to embark on a journey of introspection and self-discovery. The spacious interiors and meditative ambiance are purposefully designed to inspire moments of contemplation and tranquility, offering a refuge where one can reconnect with oneself amidst the beauty of thoughtful design.

While the public spaces sit at ground level, open to adjacent courtyards, the private spaces including 5 guest suites, primary suite, theater, spa and gym are below level, accessible via both an internal and external stair. Light wells punctuate the courtyards to allow for natural light below-grade. The decision to locate the majority of the program on the lower level leaves the main structure feeling far less obtrusive or ostentatious than the home’s actual size would suggest. The final impression of VILLA IVOIRE is of a restrained luxury. Plaster, concrete and stone give a sense of gravitas yet the home feels simultaneously weightless.
