From Concept to distinctly yours
Every piece begins with an understanding of the space it is meant to inhabit.
A project may begin with an existing design from the collection, evolve through adjustments to scale, material, or detail, or become an entirely bespoke piece developed for a particular setting. In every case, the process is guided by the same belief: furniture should not simply occupy a room, but belong to it.
From initial selection through material development, fabrication, and installation, our design and production teams oversee every decision to ensure the final piece feels considered, personal, and integral to the larger whole.
Curate - We begin with the space
We look first to the architecture: its proportions, materiality, light, and the way each room is intended to be lived in. We curate pieces that respond naturally to the project, creating a cohesive selection rather than presenting a catalogue.
When the right piece does not yet exist, we recognize the opportunity to create it.
Adapt - We make it specific
A NAINOA design is a point of departure, never a fixed formula. Dimensions may shift to suit a room; materials, finishes, and details may evolve in response to a home’s particular character.
The original intention remains, while the piece becomes wholly specific to its setting.
Design - We develop the idea together
Selected directions are translated into sketches and design studies, allowing proportion, material, and detail to be understood before production begins.
Our team reviews each development through the lens of aesthetic integrity, function, and craft, refining the design with you until the direction feels resolved.
Materialize - We resolve every detail
Once a direction is established, we move into detailed development. Depending on the piece, this may include three-dimensional studies, technical and shop drawings, material sourcing, and custom samples.
Stone, timber, metal, finishes, and textiles are considered in relationship to the project as a whole. The aim is to ensure that the physical piece carries the same clarity and intention as the original idea.
Craft - You remain part of the making
Each piece is made to order by artisans selected for their mastery of material and process. At key stages of fabrication, we document and share progress, inviting review as the piece takes shape and allowing important details to be resolved before completion.
The making is not a black box between approval and delivery. It is an essential part of the experience.
Deliver - We bring it home
Once complete, every piece is carefully reviewed, prepared, and coordinated for its journey to site. Our team manages the transition from workshop to home—from packing and delivery coordination to installation support where needed—so that the piece arrives as it was intended to be experienced.
